Just finished reading the Gospel of John.  What jumped out for me are several examples of "threes"

- Peter denied Christ 3 times

- Pilate 3 times asked the Jews "What charges are you bringing against this man?"

- Jesus appeared 3 times to his disciples after the resurrection, and the 3rd appearance, Jesus prepared a fire of burning coals (purifing?) with fish on it and some bread.

I was also struck by John 19:11-12..."Jesus answered, "You would have no power over me if it were not given to you from above.  Therefore the one who handed me over to you is guilty of a greater sin."  From then on, Pilate tried to set Jesus free.  He heard the testimony of Christ and must have believed, or at least had fear.  In  John 19:19 Pilate had a notice prepared and fastened to the cross.  It read:  "Jesus of Nazareth, the King of the Jews".  The Jews did not recognize Christ, but Pilate, a Roman did.

I loved the Gospel of John....and it was the first time I realized that Jesus prayed for all believers...John 17:30  His prayer was for US!
